New York, N.Y. (3/3/13) – The Kean University men's volleyball team picked up wins against Yeshiva University and NYU-Poly to improve to 9-1 in Skyline Conference action on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars (12-6) earned straight set wins in both contests as they topped host Yeshiva (25-9, 25-12, 25-11) while defeating NYU-Poly (25-13, 25-16, 25-12).
Kean collected 38 kills and 11 blocks as 13 Cougars saw action in the opener. Rookie Tommy Rosario led the way with five aces in addition to three kills and three digs. Sophomore Ed Jedziniak (pictured left) tallied a remarkable .833 attack percentage as he registered five kills on six swings.
The Cougars were equally as impressive in the second match of the day as they collected 48 kills with nine and a half team blocks. Sophomore John Cunningham led all players with 13 kills while sophomore Ron Dunn was perfect in seven swings. Dunn added 13 assists and two blocks. Sophomore Kyle Farley tallied five kills and four blocks in two sets of work.
Kean enjoys a short break before traveling to Massachusetts for four matches in the Endicott March Mania Tournament, beginning on Saturday.
