Union, N.J. (8/30/13) – Sophomore Kelsey King provided the lone goal of the match as #10 Ithaca College picked up a 1-0 win over host Kean University in the season opener for both on Friday afternoon in the Cougar Classic.

King's goal came in the 64th minute, coming off a hard shot that deflected off a Kean defender in the box.  Ithaca had their opportunities with eight corner kicks and 14 shots on goal, but the combination of sophomores Samantha Blair and KC Nunez tallied 12 saves to keep the game within reach.

The Cougars return to action on Saturday when they face SUNY Oneonta at noon.
