Madison, N.J. (1/6/14) – Junior Leigh-Ann Lively came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points as #13 FDU-Florham pushed past the Kean University women's basketball team in non-conference action on Monday evening.

Senior Simone Smith (pictured left) netted a team-high 18 points in the loss for Kean (6-6). 

The Cougars took an early lead as rookie Jaquetta Owens pushed the advantage to 9-2 with a layup with 15:48 remaining in the first half.  Kean would hold on to the lead for much of the first half, but fouls plagued the Cougars in the final six minutes before halftime as the Devils took their first lead of the day with nine points from the charity stripe in that time.

Behind nine points from Lively, the Devils headed into intermission with a 43-29 lead.  Smith led all players with 12 points in the first 20 minute of action while freshman Kenya Adams tallied seven rebounds off the bench.

FDU-Florham then paced the second half, holding on to a comfortable lead throughout.

Sophomore Jazmine Davis led all players with 10 rebounds on the night while Owens finished with eight points and eight assists.

The Cougars return to NJAC action on Wednesday when they host William Paterson University at 6 p.m.
