Union, N.J. (10/25/14) – The University of Rochester escaped with a 1-0 non-conference win over the Kean University men's soccer team on Saturday evening.

With less than a minute remaining, the Yellowjackets (7-4-3) were awarded a free kick just outside the box from the left side.  Senior Alex Swanger's shot fired off the crossbar and classmate Mark Lawlor was able to collect the loose ball and line the game-winner.

It was a game of inches as the team's traded post shots in each half for their best scoring chances.  In all, Rochester held the advantage with an 8-2 mark in corner kicks and 23-15 advantage in shots.

Keepers Nick Pavlichko and Brad Watkins split time in the contest.  Pavlichko recorded two first half goals, while Watkins had four in the final 45 minutes.  Sophomore Michael Shatkin tallied seven saves in the shutout win.

Kean (10-7-1) will close out the regular season on Wednesday when they travel to Ramapo College for an afternoon matchup.
