JERSEY CITY, N.Y. (11/22/14) – The Kean University men's basketball team got 18 points from Emmanuel Omowole but it was not enough to get by New Jersey City University as the Cougars fell 64-45 on Saturday.
Lincoln Holley added the first double-double this year for Kean with 10 points and a team-high 13 rebounds.
Kean had trouble shooting the ball, going 4-for-27 in the first half as the Gothic Knights built a 30-17 halftime lead.
The Cougars were able to stay in the game by connecting on eight three pointers, including a 2-for-2 night by Omowole (pictured left). J.J. Hladik added three hits from downtown on the afternoon.
Unfortunately for Kean, Jersey City also improved its shooting over the final 20 minutes, and hung on for the victory.
The Cougars fell to 0-3 on the year, while NJCU improved to 2-2.
Kean will be back in action on Tuesday when the team hosts Montclair State University at 8 p.m.
