Wayne, N.J. (2/12/14) – The William Paterson University women's basketball team led wire-to-wire, topping Kean by the final of 97-60 on Wednesday evening.
The Pioneers improve to 14-9 and 11-5 in the NJAC while the loss drops the Cougars to 13-10 this season and 10-6 in conference action.
Junior AnnaRose Pierre led Kean with 12 points, and sophomore Jazmine Davis (pictured left) chipped in 10 tallies. Freshman Essence Casey had seven points and a team-best seven rebounds off the bench.
Senior Floriana Borova collected 27 points, 10 rebounds and five steals, and senior Kristine Jackiewicz finished with 21 tallies, adding eight rebounds. Senior Dana Jeter notched her eighth double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 boards.
The Pioneers gained an early 11-point advantage (19-8, 15:28) and pushed that lead to 15 points by halftime (50-35). Five minutes into the second half, WP surged the advantage to 27 points (68-41), pacing along to their 14th win.
Kean stays on the road and will travel to Montclair State University on Saturday with a 3 p.m. tip-off.
