Men's Soccer Falls in NJAC Tournament

UNION, N.J. (10/31/15) – The Kean University men's soccer team fell in NJAC postseason action to Rowan University 3-0 on Saturday night. The Cougars (14-6) were the tournament's number five seed and the Profs were number four.

The Prof goals started with a shot by Kevin Primich. Cougar goalie Brad Watkins saved it, but the rebound came to Shane Kohler, who put it in and gave Rowan the lead 25 minutes into the game.

That was the difference at halftime. In the second period, Vinny Ignatowicz put in a header off the foot of Travis Ward to double the Rowan advantage 12 minutes in. With 16 minutes to go, Shane Doherty headed another goal in to cap the Prof scoring.

Carmine Colasurdo and Tim Dutchak (pictured left) had the only shots on goal for Kean. Watkins made seven saves in the game for the Cougars.

The men's soccer team will await its fate in the NCAA and ECAC Tournaments to be announced the week of November 8.

Rowan (16-4) will advance to the NJAC semifinals against number-one seed Montclair State on Wednesday night.
