EWING, N.J. (2/18/15) – Freshman center Najha Treadwell scored a game-high 24 points in the Kean University women's basketball team's final game of the season: a 72-54 setback against The College of New Jersey on Wednesday night.
Treadwell finished 9-of-13 from the floor and made 6-of-7 free throws on the night. Kean's senior class – AnnaRose Pierre, Shay Collins and Shanice Jones – combined for 13 points in the final game of their college careers.
TCNJ was led by Angelica Esposito, who had 23 points to pace the Lions. Jessica Goldbach had a game-high seven rebounds to help TCNJ win the battle of the boards by a margin of 10.
Jazmine Davis was active on the defensive side for Kean with six steals. Pierre (pictured left) finished with a dozen points, while Davis and Treadwell had two blocks each in the contest for Kean. Jaquetta Owens had four assists and she, Pierre and Mikeera Brown all had two thefts.
The Cougars end their season with a 12-13 record and 7-11 in the NJAC. TCNJ finished in a tie for fourth in the NJAC with a 10-8 league record. They end the regualr season at 15-10 overall.
