CENTER VALLEY, Pa. (3/25/15) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team saw its record even to 4-4 after a 10-6 setback at DeSales University on Wednesday. Alec Ramos (pictured left) scored his first two goals of the season for the Cougars and Anthony Carpenter had four points (2G, 2A) for Kean.
Four different players for the Bulldogs also recorded two goals each: Josh Harman, Joe Neggia, Nate Blevins and Ryan Rowse. Harman had two helpers in the game as well.
DeSales got off to a fast start with five first-period goals, aided by going 7-for-7 on faceoffs in the first 15 minutes.
Aside from the lopsided first, the rest of the game was remarkably even. The teams scored five goals each after that, with the Cougars outshooting their hosts 25-23. Anthony Rybek and Neil Bortolus had the other Kean goals, while Jeff Christiano and Matt Speciale had assists.
Mike Criscitello had all but one of Kean's seven faceoff wins, and Anthony Perrotta had six ground balls for the Cougars. Maxwell Fields made nine saves and his counterpart Matt Warnken made 11 to earn the win.
The Bulldogs improved to 3-4 on the year with the victory.
Kean will be back in action on Saturday when Skyline Conference play opens up at SUNY Maritime College at 1 p.m.
