Men's Lacrosse Drops Matchup with Plattsburgh

UNIONDALE, N.Y. (3/6/15) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team fell 8-3 in a neutral-site matchup with Plattsburgh State in Uniondale, New York on Friday night. The setback is the first for the Cougars this season, and they are now 2-1. It was the first win for Plattsburgh (1-2).

The Cougar goals came from Anthony Rybek, Mike Singer and Elden Andrews.

Eric Talbot provided the assist on Andrews' goal, and that third-quarter tally got Kean to within one at 4-3 after the defense-dominated first half.

But the Cardinals scored the last four goals of the game to pull ahead for the victory. James Read was the only player in the game to score more than once. He scored twice and added two assists. Brendan Damm and Matt Renko also had two helpers for Plattsburgh.

Maxwell Fields made 12 saves and had seven ground balls in the game for the Cougars. Edward Adeogun had three caused turnovers and Neil Bortolus (pictured left) won both of his faceoff opportunities.

Kean will return home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Lebanon Valley College.
