Old Westbury, N.Y. (4/16/15) – Junior Sam Gnapp led all players with five goals on the afternoon as the Kean University women's lacrosse team won their third straight game by the final of 15-4 over SUNY College at Old Westbury.
The Cougars jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first five minutes of action and didn't look back, upping their overall record to 5-8 this spring.
Junior Jordan Blanda was the first to strike, scoring back-to-back goals to start the contest. After a goal from senior Maggie Brocklebank it was Gnapp's turn as she scored three in a row, interrupted by the Panthers first goal of the day. The Cougars then breezed to an 11-2 lead at the break.
Senior Meghan Schneck (pictured left) tallied two first half goals with an assist while Blanda recorded four first half tallies.
Kean then paced the second half of action, scoring four more, including two from rookie Eliza Clark as she finished with two goals and two assists on the day.
Blanda ended the afternoon with eight draw controls and two caused turnovers. Rookies Shauna LaMaina and Nikki Apostolopoulos split time in goal, combining for 11 saves in the win.
Kean returns home to take on Rutgers-Camden on Saturday at 1 p.m.
