Three Cougars Score Two Goals Each as Men's Soccer Rolls

TEANECK, N.J. (9/11/15) – Sophomores Michael Vargas and Sev Kherlopian and freshman Timofei Kharisov all scored two goals each as the Kean University men's soccer team demolished Yeshiva University 6-0 on Friday. Freshman Chidi Iloka earned the shutout in goal and earned an assist in his first collegiate start.

The Cougars improved to 5-1 on the year and the Maccabees sank to 2-3. Kean outshot Yeshiva 26-5 during the match.

Kharisov scored the first to goals of the game at 23:33 and 29:38. The first came on a cross from Kherlopian, who earned an assist on the play. The second assist went to Vaughn Cusano.

Next, Kherlopian scored his two goals on both sides of the halftime break, at 40:59 and 56:15. Both Robert Barrera and Ishmael Soria earned assists on the first goal and Iloka picked up his assist on the Cougars' fourth goal of the game.

Vargas wrapped up the scoring with goals in the 89th and 90th minutes. Marcin Zadlo and Nick Kyriakidis added assists on the final two goals for the Cougars.

Kean has now outscored its opponents 27-4 in its six matches this season.

The Cougars will finish up their road trip on Wednesday at Marywood University for a 4 p.m. game.
