Ewing, N.J. (9/12/15) – Senior KC Nunez recorded her 16th career shutout with an 11 save performance as the Kean University women's soccer team stunned #5 Johns Hopkins University by the final of 2-0 in the TCNJ Adidas Classic on Saturday morning.
Despite a heavy offensive attack from the Blue Jays, 28 shots, the Cougars (3-2) managed to make the most of their opportunities and used two late second half goals to power to the win.
Rookie Sally Campuzano broke through with her first collegiate goal at the 67:07 mark off an assist from sophomore Emily Jurcsek. Campuzano (pictured left) had just entered the match two minutes before.
Kean added insurance as sophomore Kaitlyn Pallitto lobbed the ball over the keeper's head off a pass from freshman Sabrina Pascarella in the 86th minute for what would be the final.
The Cougars continue in the Classic tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. when they take on SUNY Oneonta at 11 a.m.
