Union, N. J. (9/16/15) – The Kean University women's soccer team topped Manhattanville College in their home opener with a 3-1 win this evening.
Kean handed the Valiants their third loss of the season (1-3). The Cougars are now 4-3 on the year.

The Cougars never trailed in today's contest and got on the scoreboard in the 19th minute on a goal by sophomore Shannon Brown. Brown hammered home the goal off a deflected save on a shot that was started by Sabrina Pascarella. Kean produced another goal towards the end of the first half as sophomore Kaitlyn Pallitto tapped it in after Jordyn Bronsky (pictured left) headed the ball off the corner opportunity.
The Cougars took a 2-0 lead into halftime and owned a 16-2 advantage in shots.
With three seconds remaining in the game, sophomore Emily Jurcsek collected the ball off a collision in the box and scored on a wide open net to seal the win.
Although Kean remained in control throughout the game, Christie DeMarco was able to fight back for the Valiants erasing the shutout from her own rebound off the crossbar in the 67th minute.
The Cougars enjoy a short break and will travel to Rowan University on Wednesday for their NJAC opener at 7:30 p.m.
