UNION, N.J. (9/26/15) – The Kean University women's soccer team suffered a 2-1 loss to The College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon in conference play.
The Cougars are now 4-4-1 overall, 0-1-1 in the NJAC. #16 TCNJ moves to 6-0-2 on the season with a 2-0 conference mark.

Elizabeth Thoresen put the Lions on the scoreboard in the 23rd minute of the match to make the score 1-0. On a breakaway after a collision with a defender, Thoresen sunk the ball into the net. TCNJ held an 11-0 advantage in shots over the Cougars leading into halftime.
Ten minutes into the second half, Thoreson went at it again scoring with a light touch on an assist from Jessica Goldman.
The Cougars continued to fight throughout the half. Emily Jurcsek (pictured left) scored in the 75th minute off what was a hand ball by the defense in the box off her initial shot. No whistle was blown, so she collected the rebound making the score 2-1.
Kean had some opportunities in the half, but were not able to convert down the stretch.
The Lions dominated possession with a final shot advantage of 24-7.
Senior KC Nunez finished with 11 saves for the Cougars.
Kean continues NJAC play at home on Wednesday, September 30th against New Jersey City University at 7:30 p.m.
