Men's Hoops Falls to Stockton

UNION, N.J. (1/16/16) – The Kean University men's basketball team fell by a count of 87-54 to Stockton University in NJAC action on Saturday. The Ospreys improved to 11-5 and 6-3 in the NJAC with their victory.

Kean is now 2-12 and 2-7 in the NJAC.

Midway through the first quarter, the Cougars went on an 8-0 run with the second string in. The streak was capped by trey by Timothy Bradley to get within one at 15-14. Jodrell Thompson had back-to-back layups during the run and Keenan Williams Jr. added an old-fashioned three-point play.

But Stockton did not allow the Cougars to eclipse their score, and extended its lead to 37-23 at the break. The Ospreys scored 50 points in the second half to pull away for the win.

There were some Kean highlights. Diego Pujols was a whirlwind of energy and multiple teams went streaking up the court in transition to set up either himself or a teammate for a score.

Bradley also finished with a solid stat line: he was 3-for-4 from three-point range, with four rebounds, an assist and a steal in 23 minutes without a turnover.

Thompson also scored a team-best nine points for the Cougars. Pujols led the team with five rebounds and four assists. Micah Kerr racked up three blocks and Justin Watson had three steals.

Marcus Harmon led Stockton with 18 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double. He led all players in the game in both categories.

Kean will remain home next week to host Montclair State in NJAC play on Wednesday evening.
