MADISON, N.J. (10/19/16) – Senior Kazari Trought curled a beautiful shot into the upper corner of the net 1:16 into overtime to give the Kean University men's soccer team a 3-2 victory over Drew University on Wednesday night. Prior to Trought's strike, Andrew Lopes had scored his first goal of the season for the Cougars with just 29 seconds remaining in regulation to force extra time.

Kean was trailing 2-1 in the waning seconds of the game when Mathias Patino sent a pass to Lopes (pictured left) for a shot across the goal from eight yards out. The ball slammed into the side netting to tie the score and touch off a celebration on the Kean sideline.
It was the second time the Cougars had erased a deficit in the game; in the first half Michael Vargas struck for an unassisted goal off his own rebound at 36:09 to tie the game at one.
Goalkeeper Bryce Horn made a career-high eight saves to earn the win in goal for Kean.
Kean was outshot in the game 17-13 and also was behind on corner kicks 3-2. But Trought's incredible shot made the stat sheet disparity trivial and sent the Cougars and their fans home with happy memories for the short ride back to Union.
Drew sank to 8-4-2 on the year. Max Correa and Ben Audi were the goal-scorers for the Rangers.
The Cougars are now 14-4 on the season and will return home for the final home match of the regular season against the College of New Jersey at 4 p.m. The program will also celebrate Senior Day for its 11 members of the senior class.
