Senior Kazari Trought registered two goals in the win as Kean improved to 11-3 overall this season and 3-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.
It was just 1-0 at the break as senior Robert Barrera corralled the ball off the crossbar deflection of Kamsi Udodi in the 30th minute.
The Cougars then used a balanced scoring attack in the second period, scoring just about every 10 minutes to walk away in the victory. Trought scored his first tally of the day at 48:49 as he took a cross from Barrera and nailed it into the lower right hand post. Senior Kenny Rocha made it 3-0 after a long run around several defenders on the left. Michael Vargas added to the advantage with a one-on-one opportunity that he used the left hand post to push in. Trought rounded out the scoring as he got up after being tripped in the box and fired home a rebound of Barrera's (pictured left) ball that was initially saved by William Paterson (6-5-2, 2-3 NJAC).
Bryce Horn stopped three in the shutout while Kyle Quigley made five saves in the loss.
Kean faces Hunter College on Monday evening in non-conference action.
