UNION, N.J. (12/7/16) – Four players scored over a dozen points as the Kean University women's basketball team thumped New Jersey City University 86-65 in NJAC action on Wednesday. Kenya Adams and De'Mean Bond posted double-doubles for the second time in three games, and Jaquetta Owens had a double-double as well.
Kean outscored the Gothic Knights 20-9 in the first quarter and led wire-to-wire. The Cougars weathered a threatening run – Kean's lead was cut to three – with a jumper by Payce Lange that came midway through the second quarter. The Knights whittled the lead down to three again in the third period, but Owens hit a trey on the next possession and sent the Cougars on their way to victory.

Marajiah Bacon led all scorers with 23 points in the game.
Adams added 12 points and 11 rebounds on 60 percent shooting, with a block, an assist and two steals.
Owens had 17 points and 10 assists to earn her double-double. She hit a game-high four times from downtown.
Bond's (pictured left) line was staggering: 16 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks, four steals and an assist. She was 5-for-6 from the floor and 6-for-8 from the free-throw line.
Miesha Bacon had another seven assists, and Brianna Burgess chipped in with six points and four rebounds.
The Cougar defense limited the Knights to 35 percent shooting and just 2-14 from three-point range. NJCU was led by Shege Haxhaj with 17 points.
Kean is now 5-2 and 3-1 in the NJAC. The Knights sink to 3-6 and 0-4 in the league.
The Cougars will hit the road on Saturday for a game against Ramapo College at 1 p.m.
