JERSEY CITY, N.J. (2/28/16) – With two Skyline Conference victories over Purchase College and New Jersey City University on Sunday, the Kean University men's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 10 matches.
The Cougars smacked Purchase to start the day, 25-15, 25-9, 25-17. The Gothic Knights managed to take the third set from Kean by a count of 26-24, but Kean won the other three sets by an average of five points.
16 different Kean players got into action on Sunday. Tommy Rosario (6), Kevin Barrow and Shayron Taylor (4 each) led the team in blocks. Steve Schrank paced the Cougars with 52 assists and shared the team lead with four aces with Jacob Kauffman.
Kauffman had 19 kills on just four sets played, while Nicholas Buseski (15) and Bill Fischer (10) were also in double figures in that column. Nick Breslin hit 10 digs for Kean , with Schrank and Fisher kicking in six each.
Kean (15-5, 7-0 Skyline) will be back in conference action on Thursday with a tri-match at Purchase College against the Panthers and Sarah Lawrence College beginning at 4:30 p.m.
