Picking up the action at the start of overtime, Kean got its patented layup off the tipoff to get out ahead early. After a Prof turnover, Owens converted another layup at 4:38 to put the Cougars up four. She scored the first five OT points.

The Cougars pushed their advantage all the way to nine. They were paced by Marajiah Bacon, who scored eight-straight Kean points in less than a minute from 2:53 to 1:55. The nine-point overtime cushion was the largest Kean lead of the day. From there, it was academic as the Cougars held on for perhaps its biggest victory of the season so far.

Kean held the Profs to just one three-pointer after halftime. Indeed, Rowan was just 3-14 from behind the arc all day and 29-91 from the floor. Both teams took a whopping 91 field goals; Rowan made 29 and Kean hit 38.

The lead changed 10 times in the game and the score was tied an additional five times.

Kate Matthews pulled down 21 rebounds for the Profs in the game. Rowan had five different players in double figures, led by Summer Criley, who came off the bench to score 17 points.

Other Cougar highlights included the play of Eden Obou, who had a dozen boards, and Danielle Oakley, who led the team with six steals and played 28 big minutes off the bench.

Owens was 3-7 from three-point range, and Marajiah Bacon was 8-for-8 from the line. Free throws were the difference; Kean made 73 percent while the Profs took 34 but made just 21 from the line.

Kean (14-8, 9-6 NJAC) will hit the road on Wednesday for an NJAC matchup with William Paterson University at 6 p.m.
