Middletown, Conn. (3/26/16) – The Kean University women's team suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Wesleyan University 14-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Wesleyan (2-4) held Kean (6-1) to single-digits for the first time this season, while also becoming the first team to score double-figures against the Cougars this spring.
The Cardinals got on the board in the first two minutes and added to that with a Rachel Aronow goal with 23:44 left in the first half. Wesleyan went on a run shortly after and scored five goals between the 17:44 mark and the 10:01 mark to help put the game out of reach, 7-0.
The Cougars erased the shutout with 17:50 to go in the contest as Brittany Ballack found the back of the net. Senior Jordan Blanda tallied a free-position goal with just under two minutes remaining in the contest. Blanda also collected four draw controls on the day.
Kean returns to action on Wednesday when they host FDU-Florham at 4 p.m.
