Ferguson allowed just five hits and one walk while fanning three in the outing as he improved to 4-3 on the season.

The Cougars (17-11) used a balanced scoring attack plating single runs in the third through seventh innings.  In the third rookie Shayne Fontana scored after reaching via a hit batsman.  Senior Ryan Kelley recorded the RBI later in the inning off a groundout.  In the fourth back-to-back singles from Andy Lopez and Matt Krupa started the frame and senior Ryan Reitmeyer drove in one with a sacrifice fly on a diving ball in foul territory.

Fontana manufactured his own run in the fifth after singling to start the inning and swiping second to move into scoring position.  A sacrifice from Kelley moved him 90 feet away and a wild pitch made it 3-0.  In the sixth Krupa notched a one out single and Reitmeyer got both runners into scoring position with a double.  Sophomore Frank Urso tallied an RBI on a sacrifice, putting Kean up 4-0.  The Cougars closed out the scoring in the seventh as Fontana found real estate in the gap and picked up a leadoff triple and later scored on a Gothic Knight miscue.

Fontana (pictured left) was 2-for-2 with three runs scored while Krupa was 2-for-4.

Kean hosts Rutgers-Newark on Saturday in NJAC doubleheader action.
