The Cougars were in a jam in the opening frame, but escaped with just one run allowed when Emily Sabo (pictrued left) dove in the hole on the right side to steal a 2-RBI single from Ramapo.
After Samantha Krakower stroked a double in the home half of the first, Caroline Ratti laced and RBI single just inside the first-base bag to knot the score at one-all.
The game was still tied until the fourth, when Ramapo blew it open with seven runs with the help of three Kean errors. Ramapo added a run in the sixth to hit the eight-run plateau and Katrina Buczkowski stranded runners on second and third after back-to-back hits by Dana Knapp and Ratti in the sixth to earn the complete-game win.
The Roadrunners lept out to a 5-0 lead in game two; Nicole Mahoney hit homeruns in her first two turns at bat and drove in a total of five runs in the game for Ramapo.
Krakower made it interesting with a two-out, bases-loaded double that scored three in the fifth. Ratti followed with an RBI single that cut the Ramapo lead down to one.
But the Roadrunners added three insurance runs and though Kean brought the tying run to the plate in the seventh by loading the bases, Erin Fitzsimmons wiggled out of the jam to earn the 2.1 inning save.
Krakower finished the day a combined 3-for-6 with two doubles. Ratti and Knapp also had three hits on the day for Kean.
The Cougars will resume their season-long eight-game homestand on Wednesday with a non-conference matchup against FDU-Florham beginning at 3 p.m.
