Women's Lax Coasts to 16-3 Win Over King's

Wilkes-Barre, Pa. (4/2/16) – The Kean University women's lacrosse team cruised to a 16-3 win over host King's College on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

Rookie Morgan Graham led all players with four goals on the day in helping Kean improve to 8-1 this spring.

Kean once again controlled the offense, scoring the game's first six goals, with goals five and six coming from senior Sam Gnapp.  King's (2-6) broke up the shutout with 15 minutes to go in the first half, but the Cougars didn't stop there, closing out the half with six more for a comfortable 12-1 halftime advantage.

The Cougars paced the second half attack and jumped out to a 16-1 lead before the Monarchs closed out the scoring with two goals for the final tally.

For the Cougars, Brittany Ballack, Jordan Blanda and Emily Stasuk all picked up hat tricks.  Stasuk added two assists, six draw controls and a groundball while Blanda contributed with two assists and two draw controls.

Sophomore Nikki Apostolopoulos (pictured left) registered 10 saves in the win.

Kean returns home to face Drew University on Wednesday evening in non-conference action.
