GALLOWAY, N.J. (4/27/16) – The Kean University men's lacrosse team dropped an arduous 9-8 overtime decision to Skyline Conference rival Stockton University on Wednesday night. Senior Anthony Perrotta scored four goals in the game and Maxwell Fields made 14 saves for the Cougars.
Perrotta scored the only goal of the first quarter as Kean took the early lead. Mike Snellen (pictured left) added an unassisted marker 1:37 into the second quarter to put Kean up 2-0.
Stockton scored the next goal, but Matt Brodley and Perrotta hit the next two to put Kean up by three. Eric Talbot also scored in the first half for the Cougars as they took the lead into the locker room.
But beginning with the final goal of the second quarter, the Ospreys scored five unanswered goals through the entire third period to take a 7-5 lead.
The Cougars regrouped, howerver; Ed Adams assisted Matt Speciale to stop the bleeding, and then Perrotta scored his final two goals of the night to put Kean up 8-7 with 5:19 remaining in the game.
Zack Aho was the late-game hero for the Ospreys; he scored with 3:29 to go to force overtime and notched the game-winner in the extra period with an assist from James O'Donnell to give Stockton the win. Pat Quinn made 11 saves to earn the victory in goal.
The Ospreys improve to 12-3 overall and 4-1 in the Skyline. Kean is 10-6 and 3-3 in the conference.
Kean will wrap up the regular season and celebrate Senior Day at home on Saturday against Elizabethtown College at 1 p.m.
