The game was cruising as a classic pitchers' duel with zeros across the board through the first seven innings of play but St. John Fisher broke through in a big way in their half of the eighth.
With one out Cody Witkorski singled deep in the hole at short and one batter later he would move to third on a double by Jack Trotman that just got past a diving Matt Krupa at first. Mike Roman delivered with a two RBI single to erase the shutout. The hit parade continued and the Cardinals quickly built their lead with an RBI single from Scott Eisenmenger and a two run blast from Nate Roethel. St. John Fisher found their groove and added four more with an RBI double from Evan Ryan, a two RBI single from Witkorski and an RBI single from Ryan Prevost.
Marc Iseneker tossed a complete game shutout as he allowed just three hits and added four strikeouts. The sidearmer allowed just one hit out of the infield off the bat of Frank Urso in the ninth.
Chris Amato suffered the loss for Kean. Amato (6-4) tossed seven and two thirds innings allowing all nine runs on 13 hits (10 of which came in the fateful eighth inning). He struck out four and walked two.
