Coca netted the first two goals of her career to get Kean (5-4, 2-0 NJAC) on the board in the first half. In the 24th minute, Coca used a breakaway from 40 yards out where she beat two defenders to gain space and forced keeper Diana Carvalho out of the net on the end of the run. Coca then had an open net to finish.
Twelve minutes later she took a long cross from Kelly Williamson (pictured left) that she buried for a 2-0 advantage.
The Cougars added insurance late in the second half as Kendall Machak knocked home a goal after a failed clear attempt by the Scarlet Raider (1-7-1, 0-2 NJAC) defense. Senior Kayla Birth finished off the scoring on the afternoon as she took a soft serve from Coca in the box.
Keeper Lauren Healey made three stops in the shutout win. For Rutgers-Newark, Carvalho recorded eight saves in the loss.
Kean returns to NJAC action on Wednesday when they travel to Montclair State University.
