Game One

Kean practiced textbook small ball in the first frame: a leadoff single by Caroline Ratti, a stolen base, a sac bunt and a sac fly by Cayleen Rizo brought her around to make the score 1-0.

In the third, Dana Knapp collected her second consecutive hit and raced home all the way from first when Jacqueline Riley doubled off the base of the centerfield wall.

Kean starter Shannon McMahon got in a bit of trouble in the fourth: a leadoff home run by Hannah Tavik was followed by a no-out double by Emily Harvey. The senior buckled down and got three-straight outs to strand the tying run on third.

In the fourth she did it again, forcing Tavik to fly out with two runners in scoring position to end the frame.

Emily Sabo stroked an RBI double in the fourth. Riley and Amanda Berezny then posted RBIs as Kean added two more runs in the fifth.

McMahon allowed just the one run and struck out one on the way to earning her eighth victory of the year, staying perfect on the season at 8-0.

Ratti stole three bases in the game, Knapp had three hits and Riley laced two different RBI doubles.

Game Two

Ratti kept up her torrid pace to the day, reaching base three times, including her second home run of the season in the fourth inning – a no-doubter over the leftfield wall. She also stole two bases in the game and scored three times.

Knapp (pictured left) drove in the game's first run with a sacrifice fly, and had two more ribbies in the sixth with a two-out RBI double off the centerfield wall.

Sabo was 3-for-3 and scored twice, while Katie Garbarino, Riley and Rizo all stroked RBI base hits as Kean scored three times in the third inning to support starter Taryn DiGiacomo.

It took the freshman exactly 100 pitches to get through her eighth complete game and seventh victory of the season. She struck out four and scattered five hits in her seven innings of work. She is now 7-1 on the year.

The Cougars will wrap up their season-long homestand on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. against Lebanon Valley College.
