Thousand Oaks, Calif. (3/4/17) – The Kean University baseball team dropped a 5-2 decision to California Lutheran University on Saturday in non-conference action.
The Kingsmen (6-4) used a four run fourth to take a lead they would not relinquish. In the third frame Cal Lutheran used three singles and a Cougar miscue for the 4-0 lead.
CLU added another single run in the fifth with a sac fly from Brad Fullerton, scoring Jimmy Jauregui who reached on a leadoff double.
The Cougars erased the shutout in their final at-bat as pinch-hitter Steve Santigate lined a two out, two RBI double off the top of the wall in left field.
Offensively Brock Podgurski (pictured left) was 2-for-4.
Kean returns to action on Sunday when they face the University of La Verne at 1 p.m. local time.
