College of New Jersey Tops Women's Lacrosse

Union, N.J. (4/29/17)Mia Blackman led all players with five goals as #1 The College of New Jersey finished the NJAC regular season with a perfect record by defeating the Kean University women's lacrosse team by the final of 19-6.

The Cougars finish the 2017 season with a 10-7 overall mark and 3-3 NJAC record.  The win improves the top ranked team in Division III to 13-1 and 6-0 in conference play.

The Lions were first to score but Kean quickly responded and tied the game up at one-all as Brittany Ballack found the back of the net.  TCNJ used two free position goals to regain a lead they would not relinquish.

The College of New Jersey scored 14 times in the first 30 minutes and led 14-4 at the break.

On the day, Ballack (pictured left) captured a hat trick with three of Kean's six goals.  Josie Pagano stopped eight shots in a relief goalie appearance.  Sophomore Meghan Tillger collected six draw controls.

For TCNJ, Alex Fitzpatrick and Amanda Muller recorded four goals each, with Muller adding an assist.
