Bridgewater, Va. (9/24/17) – The Kean University field hockey team remained perfect in 2017 by defeating Bridgewater College 3-1 on Sunday afternoon.
#19 Kean (10-0) jumped on the board at the 10:10 mark as Kayla Molnar tipped in a shot from Shauna LaMaina on a penalty corner opportunity. The Cougars would make it 2-0 just before the break as Teresa Carr finished off another penalty corner, with this goal again assisted by LaMaina.
Carr added insurance in the 46th minute with a penalty stroke goal. The Eagles erased the shutout with seconds left in the game as Tessa Tierson pushed in her own rebound for the 3-1 final.
Kean returns to action on Saturday when they open up New Jersey Athletic Conference play at Rowan University.
