Union, N.J. (3/18/18) – St. John Fisher College rallied for two runs in the eighth and four more in the 11th to push past the Kean University baseball team by the final of 6-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Dillan Wilkinson (1-0) earned the win in relief. He tossed four shutout innings allowing just one hit. He struck out four and walked four.
The Cougars (6-10) plated single runs in the first and second innings as Steve Santigate delivered a two out, RBI single in the first and Anthony Laureano scored on an RBI single from Chris Vetter in the second.
The game would remain that way as Christopher Rossi was cruising until the eighth. With one out, Steven Edgett lofted a solo homer to leftfield to erase the shutout and claw within one. With two outs the inning was extended by a Cougar miscue and Thomas Pasquale tied things up with an RBI single.
The Cardinals (6-6) scored four in the 11th as Ryan Simmons used a two run homer to take the lead and Allen Murphy and Edgett added insurance with an RBI double and single respectively.
In the no-decision Rossi tossed eight innings allowing four hits, one earned run and one walk. He struck out three.
Kean returns to action on Monday when they travel to Alvernia University.
