Union, N.J. (3/28/18) – Junior Christopher Rossi tossed a complete game as the Kean University baseball team defeated Farmingdale State College, 3-2, on Wednesday afternoon.
Rossi (1-0) allowed two late runs and five hits with four walks and two strikeouts.
The Cougars (9-12) plated all the runs they would need in the fifth inning as Frank LoGiudice got things started with an RBI single. Conner DeForge recorded an RBI off a sacrifice and Matt Krupa rounded out the scoring with an RBI single for the 3-0 lead.
The Rams (10-4) erased the shutout with two outs in the ninth. Domenic Palumbo walked to extend the inning and Shawn Blasberg reached via a fielder's choice. Joseph Roche then cleared the bases with a triple, putting the tying run on third base. Rossi then slammed the door with a strikeout looking to seal the win and end the threat.
For the Cougars, Mike Fidanza and LoGiudice each had two hits.
