#6 Men's Volleyball Extends Winning Streak to 12 with Victory over Defending CVC Champions Juniata

UNION, N.J. (3/4/18)- Dylan Flor and Steven Zarzycki combined for 32 kills as the #6 Kean University Men's Volleyball team extended their winning streak to 12 matches with a 3-1 (25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 25-19) victory over the defending Continental Volleyball Conference champion Juniata College on Sunday afternoon.

Flor finished with a double-double of 15 kills and 12 digs, while Zarzycki collected a team-high 17 kills for the Cougars who improve to 18-2 overall and 6-1 in the CVC. Quinn Peterson totaled a match-high 18 kills for the Eagles who fall to 10-11 overall and 6-4 in the CVC.

Ian Capp handed out 48 assists as the Cougars tallied nine aces and 23 blocks assists for the match.

Kean totaled double-digit kills in all four sets and maintained above a .160 hitting percentage for the match. Despite the low percentage in the final set, the Cougars strong net play helped them silence any chance of a Juniata comeback. Kean collected five blocks in the fourth set, including two triple blocks.

Shayron Taylor finished with five blocks and a match-high three solos blocks. Jared Warner and Flor also tallied five block assists, while Zarzycki added four in the process.

Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Mar. 10th, hosting matches against Neumann University, Cairn University, and nationally ranked Carthage College, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
