Camden, N.J. (4/26/18) – The Kean University baseball suffered a 17-6 defeat to Rutgers-Camden on Thursday afternoon in NJAC action.
John Carello led Kean (18-19, 8-7 NJAC) with a 2-for-4 day with two RBI and a double.
The Cougars took their only lead of the day in their first at-bat as Carello singled home Nick Polizzano who reached on a single of his own as Kean collected three hits in the first inning.
Rutgers-Camden (22-12, 10-5 NJAC) took the lead for good with two runs in the bottom of the same inning using an RBI triple and a sacrifice fly.
The Scarlet Raptors then exploded for 10 runs with nine hits in the fourth inning to put the game out of reach.
Offensively Matt Krupa and Polizzano each had two hits and a run scored.
The two teams will be back in action on Friday, this time at Jim Hynes Stadium.
