UNION, N.J. (9/18/18)- Second half goals from Jenna Patrone and Erin Donnelly propelled the Kean University field hockey team to a 2-0 victory over DeSales University on Tuesday evening.
Melissa Way totaled six shots for the Cougars who improve to 3-5 overall. Katarina Polyviou made eight saves for the Bulldogs who fall to 2-4 overall.
After a scoreless opening stanza, which Kean dominated 11-2 on shots; the Cougars broke through when Patrone took a deflected pass from Ja'Carra Jackson and ripped the ball past the keeper for the 1-0 lead in the 56th minute.
Kean added an insurance goal in the 69th minute when Donnelly tapped in a deflected pass from Rachel Mills for the 2-0 advantage.
The Cougars dominated the stat sheet with a 19-3 advantage on shots and an 8-2 advantage on corners.
Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22nd, hosting the Jumbos of Tufts University at 4:00 p.m.
