GLASSBORO, N.J. (11/7/19) – Zoe Strozewski totaled 16 kills and five block assists as the Kean University women's volleyball team bowed out of the 2019 New Jersey Athletic Conference women's volleyball championship tournament with a 3-1 loss to Rowan University in the semifinals on Thursday evening.
Natalie Ogden finished with 12 kills and 25 digs for the Profs who improve to 19-14 overall and advanced to Saturday's NJAC final against Stockton.
Jesse Larkin totaled 11 kills and eight digs for the Cougars who finish their season at 26-9 overall.
Rowan took the opening two sets with 25-22 and 25-19 scores. Kean battled back to capture set three, 25-22. In the Cougars lone set victory Strozewski tallied four kills, while Larkin and
Kayla Thornton notched two apiece. Kean erased an early 6-1 deficit to take a 22-21 advantage with a kill and a block from Thornton. The Cougars closed the set with a 5-1 run, including a kill from Strozewski to cap things off.
Cailyn Ross added seven kills, while Thornton finished with four.
Brianna Calvano totaled 42 assists, 14 digs, three block assists and two kills.
Kortnee Nelson (26),
Michelle Froehlich (19) and
Sedona Gaard (14) all tallied double digit digs in the loss.
