#7 Men's Volleyball Improves Match Winning Streak to Five with Tri-Match Sweep of Elizabethtown and Misericordia

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. (2/9/19)- Seth Russell totaled 14 kills over two matches as the Kean University men's volleyball team improved their match winning streak to five with sweeps of Elizabethtown College and Misericordia University on Saturday.

Kean 3, Elizabethtown 0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-19)

Russell totaled 11 kills and five aces as the Cougars (9-2, 3-0 CVC) remained unbeaten in the Continental Volleyball Conference with a straight-sets sweep over the host Blue Jays (3-6, 0-1 CVC).  Nick Buseski added seven kills for Kean who hit above .285 in all three sets and only committed less than five errors in any set. Russell totaled 10 kills and only two errors in the first two sets as the Cougars posted a .328 hitting percentage for the match.

Zach Gerken nearly collected a double-double with 14 assists and nine digs, while Jake Milnazik and Ian Capp both totaled four kills apiece.

Elizabethtown hit .110 for the match with Joey Nelson and Nick Baxter combining for 14 kills.

Kean 3, Misericordia 0 (25-19, 27-25, 25-13)

Dylan Flor finished with 11 kills, four aces and four digs as the Cougars (10-2) recorded a straight-sets sweep over the Cougars of Misericordia (6-4). Milnazik added nine kills, six digs, and three block assists as Kean hit .253 for the match.

After only posting four kills in the first two sets, Flor recorded seven in the final set and served for the final seven points of the match.

Capp finished with 25 assists, five digs, two kills, and two aces, while Adam Casper totaled three kills and three digs.

Brian Ross led the Cougars with seven kills in the loss.

Head Coach Charlie Ginex and the Cougars will return to action on Monday, Feb. 11th, hosting the Highlanders of New Jersey Institute of Technology at 7:30 p.m.
