EWING, N.J. (4/6/19) – Julie Raba went 3-for-7 with two RBI's and a run scored as the #18 Kean University softball team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference doubleheader to the College of New Jersey on Saturday afternoon.

Raba went 2-for-4 with two RBI's and a run scored, while Olivia Zengel finished 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored as the Cougars (22-4, 2-3 NJAC) fell in the bottom of the seventh after nearly completing a comeback in game one.
The Lions (18-5, 5-0 NJAC) took a commanding 5-0 lead after a four run second inning. Kean would get on the scoreboard in the sixth with RBI's by Raba and Jacqueline Riley as the Cougars trailed 5-2. TCNJ added another run in the bottom half of the inning before Kean tallied four runs on two hits to tie the contest at 6-6 entering the bottom of the seventh.
In the bottom of the inning, the Lions would load the bases and get the winning run on a single by Lauren Conroy.
Kaitlin Stahlbrand made a relief appearance, struck out two batters and took the loss falling to 2-1.
TCNJ 5, Kean 0
Raba and Gabriella Fredette recorded the only hits for the Cougars (22-5, 2-4 NJAC) who were shutout by the Lions (19-5, 6-0 NJAC) in the nightcap.
TCNJ's Kaitlin Kocinski tallied two homeruns, which accounted for four of the five Lions runs.
Taryn DiGiacomo struck out a batter in the complete game loss.
Head Coach Margie Acker and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 9th, hosting the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
