Union, N.J. (8/31/19) – The Kean University women's soccer team posted their second straight shutout of the weekend as they defeated New England College by the final of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars (2-0) lone goal of the match came with less than four minutes to go in the first half as Korrey Howdyshell gained possession near the endline on the right side, feeding the ball to Taylor Acevedo.  Acevedo centered the ball and found the back corner of the net after tipping off the goalkeeper.

In total Kean outshot the Pilgrims 16-3 while holding a 7-0 advantage in corner shots. 

For the Pilgrims (0-2) Emily Sashko collected five saves.

The Cougars head to the read to take on FDU-Florham on Tuesday evening.
