LYNCHBURG, Va. (9/14/19) –
Melissa Way scored two goals as the Kean University field hockey team extended their winning streak to five games with a shutout victory over the University of Lynchburg on Saturday afternoon.
Belly Reynoso made nine saves for the Cougars who improve to 5-1 overall.
Kaylie Truitt recorded four shots for the Hornets who fall to 2-2 overall.
Way notched both goals before halftime with the first goal coming in the 7th minute and the second goal, assisted by
Jenna Patrone, in the 23rd minute. Kean added an insurance goal in the 47th minute when
Peyton Mann tallied her first career goal and capped off the scoring for the afternoon.
Lynchburg edged Kean on shots (16-13) and penalty corners (9-3). Way recorded a team-high four shots, while Mann took three and
Lia DiPiazza recorded two.

Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action tomorrow, Sunday, Sept. 15th, in Bridgewater, Va. against the Eagles of Bridgewater College at 1:00 p.m.
