UNION, N.J. (2/29/20) – The Kean University men's volleyball team didn't surrender a set in sweeps over Immaculata University and Ramapo College on Saturday afternoon.
Kean 3, Immaculata 0
Stephen Reynolds finished with a season-high 15 kills and a single game record .750 hitting percentage as the Cougars (6-10) improved to 3-1 in the Continental Volleyball Conference with a straight sets sweep of Immaculata.
Kean dominated the Mighty Macs (2-8) from start to finish hitting .527 with 46 kills and just seven errors. The Cougars limited Immaculata to 15 kills and a .107 hitting percentage.
Reynolds broke the single game record for hitting percentage set by
Bez Arslani on 2/22/14. In that match, Arslani hit .658 with 27 kills in a 3-2 victory over then #2 Rivier.
Duncan Beilke posted double-digit kills for the second straight match, finishing with 10.
Kevin Molina totaled nine kills and a .571 hitting percentage. Beilke and Molina both finished with seven digs.
Zachary Noll handed out a career-high 37 assists, while Reynolds and
Andrew Lukasiuk both collected five digs apiece.

Jared Ray finished with 24 kills, eight digs and a .550 hitting percentage as the Cougars (7-10) improved to 2-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and setup a rematch for the NJAC Championship on Mar. 17
th against Rutgers-Newark, with a sweep of the Roadrunners (9-7) in straight sets.
Ray reached the 20 kill mark for the fifth time this season and the fourth time in the last five matches.
The victory also sees Kean improve their match winning streak over Ramapo to 15. The last time the Roadrunners beat the Cougars was a 3-1 loss on Apr. 2, 2013.
The freshman was unstoppable with 14 kills and only three errors between the first two sets. Ray finished off the match with 10 kills in the tight 26-24 set three victory that saw back-to-back kills and a block during the final four Cougar points from the rookie.
Seth Russell totaled 12 kills and four digs, while
Zach Gerken handed out 39 assists and
Jonathan Meyer collected eight digs.
