RALEIGH, N.C. (3/1/20) – The Kean University softball team improved to 8-0 after defeating the University of Lynchburg and the host William Peace University on the final day of the Grand Slam Triangle Classic

Julie Raba went 3-for-4 with an RBI as the Cougars (7-0) opened Sunday's action with a victory over the Hornets (5-4). Kean scored four runs on four hits over the first three innings. Raba's lone RBI came in the top of the first driving home

Caroline Ratti scored on a defensive miscue.
Ratti crossed the plate again in the third after a defensive miscue by the center fielder.
Gabriella Fredette earned a RBI after a bases loaded walk that put the Cougars in front 4-0.
Lynchburg scored two runs on back-to-back RBI's in the fourth, but DiGiacomo tossed three innings of hitless softball to secure the victory.
DiGiacomo struck out seven batters and improved to 4-0 in the complete game victory.
Kean 5, William Peace 2
Fredette finished 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, while
Hailey Sweeney went 1-for-1 with three RBI's and a run scored as the Cougars (8-0) earned the victory over the host Pacers (3-4) after a huge sixth inning.
Kean trailed 2-0 until the sixth, when the Cougars tallied five runs on four hits. Kean evened the contest at 2-2 after back-to-back RBI's from Fredette and
Jenn Majorczak, before Sweeney came in as a pinch hitter and smacked a three run homer to put the Cougars in front for good at 5-2.
Annabella Marino earned her first collegiate victory in the circle after striking out a batter in the complete game victory.
