UNION, N.J. (10/22/21)- Brianna Shaw won four events as the Kean University women's swimming team swept Ramapo College (135-91) and Baruch College (164-38) in a season opening tri-meet on Friday evening.
"Tonight was a major win for our program with the first victory over Ramapo in 40 years", said Head Coach
Chris Swenson.
The Cougars improve to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Roadrunners split the evening at 1-1 overall and falls to 0-1 in the NJAC, while the Bearcats fall to 0-2 overall.
Individually, Shaw won the 500 Free (5:34.05), the 100 Fly (1:02.40) and the 100 IM (1:06.15). She combined with

Krisztina Balogh,
Sian Seeger to win the 200 free relay (1:49.35)
Seeger and Davis both won two events apiece. Seeger won the 50 Free (26.39) and the 50 Back (30.72), while Davis took first in the 100 Back (1:05.62) and the 200 Free (2:06.45).
Isabel DeSanno posted a first place finish in the 50 Fly (30.45).
Katie Pileggi and
Teagan Powell both tallied two second place finishes. Pileggi finished second in the 50 Free (27.63) and the 50 Back (31.46), while Powell finished second in both the 100 Free (1:01.12) and the 50 Breast (33.33)
