GLASSBORO, N.J. (11/6/21) - A goal in the 61st minute downed the second seed Kean University field hockey team in the New Jersey Athletic Conference finals against top seed Rowan University, 1-0 on Saturday evening.
Kristiina Castagnola scored the game-winner for the Profs who improve to 16-2 overall.
Jenna Flemings made 11 saves for the Cougars who fall to 19-2 overall.
Rowan edged Kean on shots (16-9), shots on goal (13-5) and corners (6-3).
Jordan Thompson and
Peyton Mann both tallied four shots apiece.
Head Coach
Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will have to wait and see if they have a strong enough resumè for the field hockey committee to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA tournament. The field will be announced on NCAA.com with a press release on Sunday, Nov. 7
