MONTCLAIR, N.J. (11/9/21) – Brianna Shaw won two events as the Kean University women's swimming team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference meet to Montclair State University, 103-79 on Tuesday evening.
"I am really happy with how we are racing right now", said Head Coach
Chris Swenson. "We had several lifetime and season best swims tonight…this all coming after a really intense 10 days of training."
The Red Hawks improve to 3-2-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NJAC. The Cougars fall to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC.
Amanda Davis and
Teagan Powell each captured one event, while
Krisztina Balogh recorded a second place finish.
Shaw placed first in the 500 Free (5:42.00) and the 400 IM (4:55.03), while Davis recorded a top time in the 1000 Free (11:28.01) and Powell finished first in the 100 Breast (1:12.50).
Balogh tallied a second place finish in the 50 Free (28.70).
"I can't wait to see what we do next", said Swenson.
Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 20
th, hosting the Peacocks of Saint Peter's University and the Jaspers of Manhattan College for a tri-meet beginning at 1:00 p.m.
