UNION, N.J. (12/3/21) – Brianna Shaw won three events, while
Teagan Powell captured two events and broke a school record as the Kean University women's swimming team cruised to a 145-59 victory over William Paterson University on Friday evening.

The Cougars improve to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The Pioneers fell to 4-2 overall and 0-2 in the NJAC.
Shaw won the 100 Free (58.87), the 100 Fly (1:02.63) and the 200 IM (2:21.63). Powell took first in the 100 Breast (1:11.20) and the 200 Breast (2:39.70). Her time in the 100 breast set a new school record, breaking
Isabel DeSanno time of 1:11.49 in the Kean Trials on Apr. 24
th, 2021.
Amanda Davis captured two events as well with top times in the 100 Back (1:05.90) and the 500 Free (5:59.12).
Katie Pileggi and
Sian Seeger both won events as well with Seeger placing first in the 50 Free (26.97) and Pileggi winning the 200 Free (2:15.77).
Seeger, Powell, Shaw and Davis teamed up for a victory in the 200 Medley Relay (1:59.49), while Powell and Seeger won the 200 Free Relay with Pileggi and
Kat Riggins.
"Our girls brought amazing energy and I think we've built up great momentum heading into the second half of our season".
Coach Swenson and the Cougars will return to the pool in New York, N.Y. on Friday, Jan. 7
th against the Hawks of Hunter College at 6:00 p.m.
