Corbett Scores as #6 Field Hockey Falls to TCNJ

UNION, N.J. (10/8/22) – Kelsey Corbett scored the lone goal as the #6 Kean University field hockey team dropped a New Jersey Athletic Conference contest to the College of New Jersey, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Carly Cole notched two goals for the Lions who improve to 6-5 overall. Morgan Stump assisted on a goal for the Cougars who fall to 10-2 overall.

TCNJ scored three times over 41 minutes, before Kean answered with a goal in the fourth. Corbett tapped in a Stump shot from outside the circle in the 59th minute.

Despite the loss, Kean led on shots (23-17), shots on goal (17-11) and penalty corners (11-8).

Peyton Mann recorded nine shots, while Stump tallied four. Jenna Flemings made eight saves in 45 minutes of work.

Head Coach Leslie LaFronz and the Cougars will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 11th, hosting the Eagles of Mary Washington University at 6:30 p.m.
