DARTMOUTH, Mass. (11/11/22) – Four Players scored in double-figures as the Kean University Men's Basketball team remains unbeaten with an 87-71 victory over Westfield State University at the LaFrance Hospitality Tournament hosted by UMass-Dartmouth on Friday evening.
Griffin Barker and
Letrell West both notched 20 points apiece for the Cougars who improve to 2-0 overall. Kumar Brown totaled 13 points for the Owls who fall to 0-2 overall.
Barker and West combined for 25 first half points as the Cougars shot lights out from the field (59%) and downtown (50%). West totaled 14 points on 6-for-9 shooting, while Barker tallied 11 points on 5-for-6 shooting.
Kean opened with a 21-8 run to propel the Cougars to a double digit advantage in the first six minutes of the contest. Kean eventually extended their lead to 20 and held the advantage into halftime.
The second half saw more of the same as the Cougars maintained their double-digit lead until the final buzzer. West and
Jailen Jamison both tallied nine points apiece.
Jamison totaled 10 points and five rebounds, while
JD Daniels notched 10 points.
Corey Thelisme and
Vaughn Laki Anderson both collected eight points apiece.

David Turco and the Cougars will return to action tomorrow in the championship game of the LaFrance Hospitality Tournament at 2:00 p.m.
